Dr. Terra Schmidt is a native of Washington State. She grew up in Tacoma, where her father practiced general dentistry for over 30 years. Dr. Schmidt did her undergraduate studies at Pacific Lutheran University. She received her DDS from the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 2003. Dr. Schmidt has a strong commitment to continuing dental education. Since graduation, she has completed courses from top dental educators and was a clinical instructor at the dental school.
Dr. Schmidt and her husband, Andy, are proud to call Bellingham home and to raise their two sons in such a strong community. They enjoy the Northwest's beauty and outdoors through hiking, skiing and water sports. Dr. Schmidt's other interests include dance, yoga, and cooking.
Dr. Schmidt's philosophy on Dentistry:
"I believe that as dentists we are treating the whole person, not just the mouth. Science has revealed connections between oral and systemic health. My goal as a dentist is to also treat the person, by listening to their concerns and desires. A person's smile is a very important part of who they are. I want my patients to feel good about their teeth. By working together we can set achievable goals for a beautiful and healthy smile."
